- provide functioning of universal bibliographic information about the entire repertory of different types of the national documents of Belarus which are kept in various information institutions both in the country and abroad, in any historical period (from 1517 to present day);

- consolidate information institutions of the country (libraries, museums, archives etc.) for reconstruction of the repertory of national documents;

- supervise a distributed record of all kinds of national documents;

- provide opportunities for information interaction and electronic data exchange (providing of export/import of bibliographic records from national and international EIR);

- promote the documental heritage of Belarus at the international level.
